There’s something so soothing and comforting about the color white. Foods that have a white appearance seem to carry this charm as well! Take this decadent white chocolate mousse, for example. With its ivory elegance, delicate sweetness, and airy texture, it definitely steals a few extra glances on the dessert table simply by being present.
Ok, enough about how it looks- let’s talk about what we dessert lovers care about the most: the flavor!
The first spoon of the mousse tells the tale of how perfectly balanced this entire dessert is. The softness and creaminess that you get to experience come from the delicious mix of whipped cream and white chocolate used in this recipe. While dark chocolate and milk chocolate have their own fanbases, white chocolate has a more approachable level of taste that’s subtly sweet and loved by almost everyone.
And if subtle isn’t really your thing, you can go nuts(or add nuts!), customizing this mousse to your liking! Did I tell you how good white chocolate mousse works as a base for other flavors? Well, let’s find out!

Explore Different Flavor Variations Of This Easy White Chocolate Mousse!
As white chocolate has a neutral base, it can easily complement other flavors, making it a perfect opportunity to explore other variations:
Caramel and ButterScotch Duo

Instructions
Melt The White Chocolate
- Place a small pot on the stove over low heat and add ½ cup of chopped white chocolate to it.
- Stir the chocolate occasionally until it’s fully melted.
- Alternatively, you can microwave the white chocolate in 30-second increments. Stir between each session, microwaving at half power until fully melted.
Prepare The Cream Cheese Mixture
- Grab another mixing bowl and add 1/2 cup of cream cheese to it.
- Add 1 tbsp of powdered sugar; beat the mixture well with a stand mixer until combined.
- Then, add ½ tsp of pure vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture.
- Beat again to mix it well combined.
Mix The Cream Cheese and Chocolate
- Pour the white chocolate into the cream cheese mixture.
- And beat until it’s smooth.
Whip The Heavy Cream
- Take a mixing bowl and pour 1/2 cup of heavy cream into it.
- Using an electric beater, beat the whipping cream at high speed until stiff peaks form. Set the cream aside for later use.
Combine Heavy Cream and Chocolate Mixture
- Carefully fold the whipped cream in using a spatula. You can use the beater to mix instead of the spatula by setting it at the lowest speed.
- Fold or beat until the mousse is just combined and fluffy.
Chill, Serve, and Enjoy
- Taste the mousse to see if it needs more sweetness. Add 1 or 2 tbsp of powdered sugar if needed.
- Divide the mousse into serving cups using a spoon and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Garnish the white chocolate mousse with more whipped cream or fresh berries, and enjoy your creamy delight!
