Flavor

Mint, orange, lime- which one is your favorite? You can include any of these flavorings in the sugar cookies if you want!

Add these delicious flavorings to your cookies, and watch them become your kid’s favorites as well! There are a wide range of flavors available, including lemon, cinnamon, orange, ginger, etc. Just add the fruit juice or spice to the dough before shaping and baking them. Start with a small amount first for the best result and then adjust to taste.

Texture

To make things a little bit more interesting, you can use a different type of flour, such as wheat or cake flour, for a nuttier or softer texture. For a creamier texture, you can add white chocolate or milk chocolate.

If you are craving for a crunch while taking a bite, consider adding almonds, pecans, walnuts or rolled oats. You can also add shredded coconut or biscuit crumbs to make the cookies for added flavor.

Decorate

Make your cookie sparkle with decorations! You can use cookie cutters and create fun shapes for the kids. Glossy icings help decorate the cookies with different designs and patterns on the cookies.

You can also use frostings with flavors such as vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate, etc. To create visual appeal, you can add small candy pieces like M&Ms, candy corn, and colored sugar crystals.

Stuffing

You can stuff your Sugar Cookie Recipe with delicious fruit jams like strawberry, raspberry, and apricot. For a nutty flavor, you can use peanut butter or Nutella fillings. If you are a marshmallow fan like me, you can add a small quantity of marshmallows to the dough before baking.

To add a bit of sweetness, use cream cheese or caramel sauce as filling. Make sure to seal the dough properly before putting it into the oven.

Diet-Friendly

Love cookies, yet want an excuse before making them? Well, you can make these cookies as healthy as you want! Instead of whole flour, use oat flour to make a healthier version of the cookies. Also, you can use honey or maple syrup instead of white sugar as a natural sweetener.
