How To Prevent Small Batch Chocolate Chip Cookie Disasters?
Worried your small batch cookies are gonna be a total failure? Not when I have got your back! Here are some ways to prevent common small batch cookie disasters:
- As the cookies are made in small quantities, your measurements need to be precise to succeed. Use a measuring spoon or kitchen scale to follow the recipe.
- Mix the cookie batter until the ingredients are just combined. Overmixing the batter may lead to tough cookies instead of chewy ones.
- If the dough feels too sticky, chill it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before baking to prevent spreading in the oven.
- Adjust the ingredients for the right consistency! If the dough is too wet, add a bit of flour, and if it’s too dry, mix in a splash of milk to balance the texture.
- Keep at least 2 inches of space between the cookies to prevent them from merging and bake evenly.

The Secret To Perfect Textures For Small Batch Cookies Recipe
Crispy edges, soft centers, and that perfect amount of chewiness- it’s all I want my cookies ever to be! Let’s see what makes the cookies have the perfect texture:
Chewy Cookies
Want your cookies to have that perfect chewy goodness? Use more brown sugar, melted butter and an extra egg yolk to help give your cookies that delightful chewiness.
Crispy Cookies
If crispy cookies are more your style, try adding more white sugar instead of brown sugar as it contains less moisture and gives you that crunch you are looking for!
Melt-In-Your-Mouth Cookies
For that soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture, underbake your cookies slightly and let them cool on the baking tray to firm up just enough.
Soft and Fluffy Cookies
To make your cookies soft and fluffy, add more flour, butter, and a little bit of cornstarch to help them hold their shape and texture.
