Types Of Instant Coffee For Perfect Iced Coffee Recipe
I promised you a refreshing drink in just one minute, right? To keep my word, I have used instant coffee in this recipe.
Instant coffee is a dehydrated powder sourced from coffee beans. The beans are roasted, ground, brewed, and finally evaporated into the fine powder called “Instant Coffee.” The quick and easy preparation of coffee has led 75% of people worldwide to prefer it over brewed coffee.
You will find a couple of varieties of this coffee at the supermarket, and you can try out my recipe with any of them. Let’s give you a tour of each one before you decide which coffee goes with your tastebuds the best:
Coffee Granules
Instant coffee granules are the most common variation in supermarkets and convenience stores. They offer unique flavors depending on the country of origin and roast level.
For example, Colombian coffee granules are slightly sweeter, with a note of cocoa, fruits, and nuts. Vietnamese coffee has bolder characteristics, with an intense and chocolaty flavor. Brazilian coffee is famous for its nutty taste and smooth texture. Indonesian coffee has an herbal undertone and a refreshing, earthy taste profile.
Instant Espresso
Don’t like your coffee mild? Instant espresso might be the right fit for you then! Bolder and darker in terms of flavor, instant espresso has a richer taste that lingers in your mouth for a long time. A shot of espresso drink contains more caffeine than your regular instant coffee. Espresso powder is commonly used to make coffee drinks like lattes and mochas.
Decaf
Decaffeinated Coffee is precisely the opposite of espresso. It is made for people who want to limit their daily caffeine intake.
Decaf coffee tastes the same as regular coffee. However, as the beans go through a process to remove most of the caffeine, they won’t be able to give you the significant boost you need to stay awake at night.
All-in-one Packet
Ah! It’s my personal favorite when I am running out of time! The all-in-one packet coffee contains everything you need—coffee, sugar, and cream—all in one place. Just pour the contents of the packet into water, and you are all set to go.
Flavored Instant Coffee
Some coffees have additional flavors, such as vanilla, cardamom, hazelnut, chocolate, caramel, coconut, and orange. These flavored coffees are sweeter and don’t require additional sugar or syrup in preparation.
